Panna cotta is an italian desert..Deliciously light and creamy, panna cotta is so easy to make..Got this wonderful recipe from my dear friend Pramitha Avinash of pramitha love cooking.
Ingredients :-
Unflavoured gelatin – 1 envelope/1 tbs
For Raspberry sauce
Unflavoured gelatin – 1 envelope/1 tbs
Water – 2tbs
Heavy cream – 1/2cup
Half and half – 1 cup( I substituted half and half with 1tbs of melted butter added to 1cup of milk)
Vanilla essence – 1tsp
Lemon zest – 1/2tsp
Sugar – 4tbs
For Raspberry sauce
Raspberry – ½ cup
Sugar – 3tbs
Fresh lemon juice – 1tsp
Water – ¼ cup
Corn flour – 3/4tsp mixed with 1tbs water
Method
1.Add 2 tbsp of water to the gelatine powder and leave it for few minutes.
2.In a saucepan add heavy cream,half and half and sugar ,bring to boil over medium heat.Switch off the flame and add the softened gelatin mixture and whisk it until gelatin melts.
3.Strain the mixture and add the vanilla essence to it.
4.Pour the mixture to three medium sized bowls.Cover and refrigerate for at least 3 hours or overnight.
5.Now blend raspberries,lemon juice,water and sugar.Then pour the puree in a sauce pan and bring to boil.
6. Add the cornflour mixture and cook stirring constantly until the mixture thickens. Remove from the heat and pour it in a dish and allow it cool completely and place the sauce in the fridge.
7. For plating the dessert,dip each bowl in hot water for 10seconds,then run the knife around the edges of the bowl and invert the dessert into a serving bowl.
8.Now spoon the sauce around the panna cotta or over the top.
