Jeeraka kanji/Cumin flavoured Rice soup

Cumin Flavoured rice soup/Kanji z one of the specialties of Ramadan dishes




Ingredients:-

Cracked rice/Podi ari-1cup
Coconut grated-1cup
Shallots/sml onion-5no
Cumin seed/nalla jeeragam-1tsp
Turmeric pwdr-1tsp
Coriander pwdr-1tsp
Salt

For seasoning(Optional)

Shallots-3no
ghee

Method:-

Wash rice, n add turmeric powder n cook it with 3-4 cups of water
Cook till the rice is soft n kanji z enough thick(3 whistle z enough)
Grind cocnut with cumin,Corinader powder & shallots using a 1/4cup of water to fine paste
Pour this grinded mixture to kanji n if kanji z too thick,then add little more water
allow it to boil,n remove from fire
Heat ghee n saute chopped small onion til golden brown color,pour this to kanji n serve hot
